Longwood Gardens on Memorial Day

So I noticed while looking at all the pictures I took at the gardens, that the most beautiful things I took pictures of, weren't flowers at all, but all these neat, luscious shades of green, and wonderful textures of leaves. I have some more, I will post later, but I think these are some of my favorites. We went there with Mike and Rach. Anderson was supposed to come but made up some lame excuse. (sorry der) I think it was the walking in the sun that scared him off. So we spent hours just walking around and looking at all these pretty things. You can't help but feel relaxed and happy. Then we took a break and had a little picnic on the grass under a tree, that overlooked a small lake. We continued to walk around and take breaks here and there, and literally, stopped to smell the roses. haha

We (me and Doug) got some wine and beer, being served from a cart, and we all went to sit down on our blanket, to wait for the huge fireworks display. Everything just couldn't have been better. Life was great. We had a little bit of time to wait and then it started lighting. UHOH So they told everyone to go indoors to the conservatory to wait and see when the storm will pass. Thank goodness we found like an employee break room that had AC and hung out there. I didn't want to wait in the greenhouse! So we all just waited and waited. Meanwhile everyone that has internet access on thier cell phones, started looking up the weather.

We probably waited about an hour and they started the fireworks at 10:15pm. Regan, who is 2yrs old, was tired at this point. BUT she was soooo excited when they started the fireworks. For some reason she LOVES to be scared. The fireworks lasted about 45 minutes and was linked with the water fountains which had colored gels, AND the best part, it was all done while going along with music from soundtracks of Indiana Jones,E.T. , Star Wars and some others I can't seem to remember. But it was the most amazing display of fireworks I have ever seen! And I think we will do this EVERY year. What a great experience.

Congrats to Mr. and Mrs. EMS!

Congratulations to Eric and Becca, who got married on Sunday May 20th 2007. It was such a beautiful wedding and a great time! We have been to a number of outdoor weddings, but this was by far the best one. It was located in a park surrounded by wonderful gardens full of blooming flowers, huge rocks, and water fountains. It was such a beautiful and sunny day. I think we all lucked out because it was supposed to rain. But by the look of these pictures, you would never think such a thing was predicted.

I am so happy when 2 people who are perfect for each other, get married, and start a new beginning together. I always cry at weddings, and this time I told myself not to. I didn't want to mess up my makeup.HA as soon as the bride started saying her vows that she had written, and started to get emotional, I lost it. I was tearing, and then I heard some other ladies crying and I couldn't hold it in. I am so happy for them and I know they will have such a great and happy life together. Even though they just bought a house in Erie,PA, (a good 8 hours or so away)I hope they don't become strangers because they really are good people and great friends. :)

Target and SLIM FAST

So I went to target yesterday to try to find shoes for a wedding we are going to tomorrow. And of course buy diapers and stuff like that. I LOVE Target, and I know you do too. It's awesome, even though they didn't have any shoes in my size left. oh well. My 2 year old daughter Regan was with me, and was pretty good. But for some reason when we get to the check out she always gets a little nuts. So I am wrestling with her, trying to make her happy so I can put the stuff on the counter. I eventually do that and wait while the lady rings my stuff up. I get too distracted to see what she is doing, besides gossip with her co-worker that is also rigning someone else up. I am watching my daughter to make sure she doesn't run away. Then I pay the bill and leave.
I don't notice til I get home, but one of my bags is really heavy. I open it up and see that there are 2 6-packs of slim fast shake, which I didn't have in my cart. I look on my bill, and I did pay for them. HUH I thought...OH, It was the ladies in front of me. I don't know if she changed her mind or if the lady forgot to bag them. Either way, I took it as a sign. All I have been doing the past week was complain about how much wieght I gained. We just moved to the burbs after living in the city of philadelphia for the past 10 years. I no longer walk to the grocery store,CVS, or south street just to get something to eat. I no longer have to walk up 3 flights of stairs to reach my bedroom. So as a result, I have gained a little over 10 pounds. And for a short girl, that's not so good.
SO I decided to take this sign and run with it. I will now be on the slim fast diet plan. Which is good because we have another wedding to go to in August at Marthas Vineyard and I don't want to be seen in any type of bathing suit at this weight. YIKES. I am actually thinking about getting a full piece bathing suit because my stomach hasn't really looked the same after having a baby..Damn stretch marks. No matter how much palmers cocoa butter I used, it still didnt work. But I did get the most beautiful little girl in the world :)

ETSY

I want to start this off by explaining what made me do it. I was reading one of my husbands magazines, AP (Alternative Press) and stumbled upon a review that intrigued me. It was about a girl who sells prints of her artwork online. I thought her stuff was neat, so I looked it up the next chance I got. It was on a site called http://www.theblackapple.etsy.com
and I noticed it was a whole community of people, young and old, men and women, selling all things handmade. HOW AWESOME!
I immediatly started buying stuff from all sorts of people all over the country. There really is something for everyone. Then I started getting really inspired. More inspired than I have been in a long long time. And I started thinking, if these people can do it, then why can't I?
The biggest inspiration that i got from ETSY was all the super cute crochet toys. I HAD to learn to do that. I had all these ideas ans i needed to get them out. I looked and looked everywhere for crochet zombies, or any type of zombie dolls. I couldn't find much, so I had to make some of my own. I even named them after our friends. Thank goodness im not the only person that likes them. I only sold a few so far but I still think they are a success.
And to get back to the girl that I saw in the magazine...when I went on her site, she has sold alot of items. NOW, about 3 months later, and I ventured on her site again, she has almost hit 5,000 items sold! I can't believe it. It just goes to show that there are people out there that want things that you create.
